Just waiting for Leo and Jaymee to get back from school before we have a final (private) rehearsal of our ‘family fakir and acrobatic’ show which we are taking to UK over the holiday period. That’s ‘family’ as in Dave and I, dads of Leo and Jaymee, and their lesbian mums Karen and Clare. Oh, and with Pete added (Dave’s elder brother). He’s “in” after a long layoff from public performance because we are all having a mega-family Christmas in the UK too.
I’m really proud of Leo and Jaymee. They get two spots to themselves: a double routine of balance on pedestals, and a set in which Leo supports Jaymee in partner acrobatics. Leo also get’s his moment of fame on his bed of nails (he’s not quite 11!) with Jaymee balancing on her hands on top of him.
Pete has developed an impressive bar routine in the style of the Russian/Ukrainian ‘street workout’: he’s cracked hanging from the back of his neck and also from his jaw in the lotus position! We shall have a bar in each venue at 3m height which also gives us height enough for the usual doubles stuff (Dave suspending me teeth-to-teeth for example): Pete’s availability as a base also gives us a chance to do some ‘mens four’ acrobatics with me in the platform position on Dave and Pete and Leo on top. Plus the usual flying and catching.
The girls will have long spots focussing on fire (body burning, rolling over coals, fire breathing) and we all take our turn on nails, glass and swords with others (including audience) piling on top. Such is our “business”!!
And, after the private rehearsal (in Man.Power.2) we shall repeat it at 8pm with the most critical audience we can assemble – our friends from the private gym. They always give us massive support and a huge boost, whilst not holding back if they see things which can be improved. And then we fly the Atlantic to celebrate Christmas before picking up our UK-based equipment and hitting the south-west UK club circuit before Leo and Jaymee need to get back to TN for school. All fully sold out – amazing.
All of this, of course, comes with a lot of effort, both on the weights:
…on the balance (whenever an opportunity presents itself)…
…and on general gymnastics…
…the nails, glass and swords, frankly, are the easy bit. Simple physics.

So there we are. The story of how we got into all of this (and fell in love as well) can be found in these modest offerings. Just in time to order one for your partner’s New Year gift. And now, the usual
Bonus Boys
All nicely chiselled. Bye for now.
