Boys Having Fun

Another hasty post to keep things flowing whilst we get our breath back. Six shows in four days – now, the girls, Jamie and Leo have flown back to Oak Ridge TN because the kids already missed a week of school. I can’t get used to how much earlier US kids return after the summer vacation than they do in the UK, where the holidays have another fortnight to run!

Dave and I are taking a few more days out to crash on the beaches here on Long Island and, interestingly, our ‘roadie’ Chet, still with us after ten years, is staying too: the three of us ‘struck’ our staging whilst the rest of the company hit the road in one of the elderly buses we use for the Circus travelling when in the continental US; Chet will drive us back in the second bus with all the stuff plus bunks for us all to use overnight. The buses were a brilliant idea back in 2004 which involved our great friends Dane and Leon from Lexington, and I guess that gets included in the final book.

Meanwhile, some nice pix of boys having ‘fun’, starting with one of the most bizarre pictures I’ve seen in a long time, and one which I’m not really sure how to explain:

Looks like an army team with the world’s largest baseball! I like to think it is a genuine picture featuring US army gymnasts, but who knows? It came to us cleverly captioned by a guy called Laurence “Gulliver’s Really Going to Miss That”, which says it all really!

The rest of tonight’s fun-loving collection of boys are just in pairs, doing what (possibly) gay pairs of boys do…

The last two, erm, ‘mixing it’, apparently, in their underpants. Shortly, I aim to post some more about the ‘history’ which precedes these books I keep rabbiting on about: there’ll also be plenty more ‘boys having fun’, gymnastics, acrobatics, wrestling and stuff, so watch this space!

About tonycavanagh

Born Northampton UK; school Oxford UK and Oak Ridge Tennessee, where I met my wonderful partner Dave, also from UK. Oak Ridge is our main training base for acrobatics and circus stuff, but we also established a base in Wales (UK) to serve us when we are working in Europe. Our 'story', of finding gay love, learning the acrobatics trade and then of how we got shot at during our show (and worse was to follow - just to prove that the risks of being an acrobat are not always the most obvious ones!) are now available in my three books 'Loving the Boy', 'The Power of Love' and 'Against All Odds'. Links available on most blog posts. Actually, waiting for the imminent arrival of the first printed copies was far scarier than anything we do in performance. A fourth book - not about us but exploring the sadness of a gay Native American boy denied his true identity - is currently with an agent for evaluation. watch for 'Let The Future Find Me' in due time. And now to book five... another boy, another quest... seems its always boys...
