…or do I mean
Getting the Balance Right…
Perhaps today I mean both.
This guy shows what we call a ‘banana back’. He’s very successfully holding a balance on the fence but’ for a good ‘performance” that back needs to be much straighter. But, as it’s just probably for fun, and to prove to himself (and his mates) that he can achieve it, it’s fit for purpose.
Dave and I have been wondering about our ‘LIFE BALANCE’. Are we sensible to go on devoting ourselves to sport as we get increasingly older: it could happen that we will be unable to continue eventually and have no other income streams to fall back on! Unless my improbable ‘career’ as an author of strange biographies-cum-gay lifestyle-cum thrillers takes off!
At the moment, I need significantly more people to take the plunge and buy the books… they’re not grossly expensive and you might even enjoy bits of them (smiles hopefully!).
With Dave and myself, we’re definitely balanced, both in this…
…indeed, this interesting picture rather sums up both aspects of things for us:
I’m not even going to attempt to try and explain what they’re doing: suffice to say that Dave and I tried the position on a high bar at the gymnastics centre after hours, and it feels rather peculiar!
Back with the psychoanalysis, we’ve decided that being happy and having a fantastic group of like-minded friends tuned in to all our activities – be they the gay lifestyle, a love of acrobatics, and ‘work’ ( which presently means a mixture of coaching [mainly] and performance) – is priority number 1, and we seem to have that. Add in the family – Dave’s daughter and my son with our lesbian friends and performing colleagues – and perhaps we shouldn’t ask for anything more. The thrill (for a gay guy) of watching one’s son growing up (and becoming a talented performer in his own right) is just a pure joy.
And we do have another source of income (“pension fund”) in the form of property in Wales UK.
So we’ll go on enjoying our present ‘balance’, as we are, and let you enjoy some more balance here, too!
