A fit guy surrounded by the tools of his trade. Motivated – definitely!
Yet again, this post is ‘inspired’ (??) by a phrase (or word in this case) with a double meaning. It had never occurred to me before, but in South Africa, you ‘motivate’ something if you put the process in place – like a guy in a company preparing a case to make some travel plan, for example – you ‘motivate’ the process. So when we met this guy the other day, visiting from Johannesburg, we found that his South African English and our Brit/American English didn’t exactly correspond! Strange.
But, in our business of fitness and acrobatic sports, our motivation is clear. We want to look good and perform well, which sees us in the gym a heck of a lot:
…free weights, machines, the lot… and a little bit of self-satisfied posing, tooo…
Cables, too…
…and all that training, plus flexibility work, keeps us in trim for working on our balance activities…
Working together, feeling and respecting the power and skill in each other’s bodies… that’s what ‘motivates’ us!
Some power there! And here…
(Wish I had had a twin brother to work out with… that would have been really cool! Actually, to have had a brother at all would have been really cool. Oh well.. it wasn’t to be!).
However you share the power:
…that’s what our motivation is all about. Doing things together – even weird things…
Uh? Now why would they be doing that to a carpet? Ideas? Comment!
Hopefully these motivational ideas emerge in these small offerings (click on covers!), along with a celebration of gay love (Dave and I, plus our amazing friends, other gay couples) and also a little adventure (misadventure would be a better term, I think. The concluding part, Against All Odds, is now printing, by the way).
We’de love you to want to read these, but if it’s just the gym training that interests you, fine. The message there is get together…
…encourage one another…
… get sweaty…
…stay MOTIVATED…
…and have FUN!
