Decisions, Decisions… Not always Black and White!

3R has made the big decision that he will go on our short circus tour at the end of this month as a performer! He has really ‘clicked’ with Ivo over the hair-hanging business – and they figured that Ivo could go on the trapeze, each of the them could tie a hook into the end of their pony tails and then 3R hangs from Ivo after mounting someone’s shoulders to get in position and carefully apply his weight. Then he does a lot of contortion moves in this ‘double hair-hang’ position. Kewl! No pix allowed of this yet, but I’m gonna try and persuade them…

He’s also kewl with using the beds of nails and stuff and will join with the rest of us in that (like ‘Steelkast’ in the pic below). Seems to enjoy a bit of discomfort, does 3R, and the girls are also trying him with a few ‘brushes’ of their flaming torches. So far, he’s fine with that too.

3R has also relaxed considerably. A lot of guys have donated him clothes and other stuff, for which he is very grateful, but he still prefers his usual ‘uniform’ of no-shoes-no-shirt to go around the place, including his work at the car wash. I guess people accept it because he is just an unusual guy.

The next big decision – and a surprise – is that Ivo’s partner (and Dave’s brother) Pete will NOT do the tour. Initially, neither of them were going to, until the hair business with 3R got going. But Pete and Ivo both have big responsibilities at the gymnastics centre now, so Pete is going to try and cover for them both (and the rest of us, somehow) whilst we are away.

This means we are short of an acrobatic ‘base’ and we are re-jigging a lot of the usual moves as a result.

Of course, we need to practice our balance moves at every opportunity…

… and our training with weights and stuff continues:

Big decision no 3 is that Dave and I, with Leo and Jaymee, will spend most of July and the first week of August back in the UK at our place in Wales (as well as catching up with family). The kids need to be back Aug 12 to report for school. Someone who had booked our place for four weeks vacation has had a medical issue, and the following weeks were free, so we’ve quickly ‘booked’ them for ourselves. A few projects in mind: new stove, solar panels on the barn… currently the Welsh weather is brilliant, but I don’t expect it will last.

I might even take some time our to consider some more writing, which I have to admit I have rather enjoyed, even though it took years to produce these…

This one also in e-bookCover2 Thumband, finally... – click on any of the covers for more info (e-books on the way for 2 and 3 and already out for 1). I admit, 3R’s strange background has given me some ideas for a fictional piece based around his real-life experiences, but I’d need to do a heck of a lot of research around the native American side of things (an e-mail correspondent from Canada has already sent me some fascinating thoughts, for which many thanks!). by the way. A decision yet to be made there, then.

Meanwhile, a few more general pix of fit guys to enjoy: I’ve decided to go black-and-white today: it somehow improves the muscle definition!

OK. A dozen neat b&w images there – a good decision, I think. I’ll finish with one more, just for Dave (bad decision!)…

one for Dave

About tonycavanagh

Born Northampton UK; school Oxford UK and Oak Ridge Tennessee, where I met my wonderful partner Dave, also from UK. Oak Ridge is our main training base for acrobatics and circus stuff, but we also established a base in Wales (UK) to serve us when we are working in Europe. Our 'story', of finding gay love, learning the acrobatics trade and then of how we got shot at during our show (and worse was to follow - just to prove that the risks of being an acrobat are not always the most obvious ones!) are now available in my three books 'Loving the Boy', 'The Power of Love' and 'Against All Odds'. Links available on most blog posts. Actually, waiting for the imminent arrival of the first printed copies was far scarier than anything we do in performance. A fourth book - not about us but exploring the sadness of a gay Native American boy denied his true identity - is currently with an agent for evaluation. watch for 'Let The Future Find Me' in due time. And now to book five... another boy, another quest... seems its always boys...
