We’re Outta There!

Sorry! Thanks to inserting two special posts, plus a great deal to do, I’ve missed out on reporting on our return from Cefn Derwen in Wales to the US. High School is ready to start and the kids needed to be back – Leo and Chris are really peeved that their new-found UK friend Ollie has two more weeks vacation… I don’t know how this is going to work for them, but Leo and Chris spent an hour Skyping with 9yo Ollie last afternoon (evening in Oxford UK!), determined to be ‘great team’ in the future at acrobatics and gymnastics. Well, we’ll find out I guess.

There are plenty of things they can practice on their own…

…meanwhile, Ollie is plotting for Colin and ‘Tash to bring the family over to TN for Christmas! (Credit to Jaydon Cabe for that interesting handstand pic).

So, my parents are now in residence in Wales, hoping to oversee the assorted jobs that never got done whilst we were there. And also, I promised a few posts ago to report on the invitation we accepted to spend a night with Tom and Iestyn, the original gay couple in the town local to Cefn Derwen. Well, it all ended with two devoted couples doing their own thing, but side by side. And quite a bit of other shared ‘gay stuff’ that good gay friends can share without risk…

Suffice it to say that we had a great overnight stay in the somewhat cramped conditions of their bedroom…

Special OfferMore on the stuff that we love – finding gay love, enjoying acrobatics, getting into assorted types of trouble – its all in these!

Right now, back in Oak Ridge TN, it is very much back to work for Dave and I, coaching a seriously high number of sessions in gymnastics and acrobatics whilst our colleagues get their well-deserved breaks…

That planche move, and the next one demonstrated by Kirill Kalutskikh, need some serious muscle power, and we’ll be doing a great deal of that too…

So its into the gym to get back on the machines that we don’t have at outr place in Wales…

…although you can’t beat a basic pull-up bar for packing on the muscle and keeping that ripped look…

So there we are. We’re gonna keep working on our acro and basic weights as long as we are able, varying the approaches as much as we can:

On our arrival back into TN, we found a welcoming party of eight great Tuan Jie guys, with an evening (and night!) planned out… more on that next time. If there’s a gap of a few days in posting, sorry: it is a rather busy time “at work” just for now!

About tonycavanagh

Born Northampton UK; school Oxford UK and Oak Ridge Tennessee, where I met my wonderful partner Dave, also from UK. Oak Ridge is our main training base for acrobatics and circus stuff, but we also established a base in Wales (UK) to serve us when we are working in Europe. Our 'story', of finding gay love, learning the acrobatics trade and then of how we got shot at during our show (and worse was to follow - just to prove that the risks of being an acrobat are not always the most obvious ones!) are now available in my three books 'Loving the Boy', 'The Power of Love' and 'Against All Odds'. Links available on most blog posts. Actually, waiting for the imminent arrival of the first printed copies was far scarier than anything we do in performance. A fourth book - not about us but exploring the sadness of a gay Native American boy denied his true identity - is currently with an agent for evaluation. watch for 'Let The Future Find Me' in due time. And now to book five... another boy, another quest... seems its always boys...
