‘Trampolines on the Line’

‘Your train has been delayed whilst trampolines and garden sheds blown out of people’s yards are cleared from the tracks…’

Well, that’s original – it seems that our trains to Wales yesterday were the few surviving ones in the UK following the huge storm. Anyways, a great and cosy evening and night last night with Tom and Iestyn (local gay couple) staying over with the four of us… and now we’re preparing for the two kids, my parents and Dave’s dad to arrive. Tom and Iestyn will join us for Christmas lunch (we insisted) so we’ll be eleven squeezed around our scrubbed kitchen table here at Cefn Derwen.

This morning, Dave, Tom Iestyn, local boy Neil and some of his mates supervised my ‘rehab’ after being ill. Sounds like I’ve just come off drugs – I suppose I have (‘Amoxicillin’) and very successful it seems to have been, although still feeling a bit weak. But it was great to work up a sweat with guys handing me light weights in relays.

Managed a few sets of pull-ups too:

We held some ‘last-man-standing’ competitions holding various positions like this:

…then did a bit of shorts-on wrestling (various girlfriends of Neil and his mates showing up!)… got nicely sweaty…

No river swimming as yet, though – definitely wouldn’t be good for my chest right now (and the river is still torrential anyway – we’de probably end up in the Atlantic somewhere).

Definitely will be laying off the training tomorrow (Xmas Day) with huge family group to entertain, and maybe some good books to read (here’s hint if you fancy gay love, gym fitness and misadventure – e-books instantly downloadable):

Loving the Boy: ISBN 978-1-907732-30-0

The Power of Love: ISBN 978-1-907732-41-6

Against All Odds: ISBN 978-1-908645-35-7

A few more pictures, then, on our usual theme of male fitness:

1 single hottie

Another splendidly sweaty young man, there! Now, two for the price of one…

3 Bulgarian wrestlers next:

An upside-down view for a change…

…and, on that laid-back note, we’ll stop the pic posts for today (well, bar one last one for Christmas at the end!). It amuses me that, here in the wilds of Mid Wales, the post travels 60,000 miles through space before it even hits a server in London to make its way to WordPress. Clever stuff, huh! Unless the signal that seeks me out here from that lonely satellite up there is interrupted by flying trampolines…

Everyone at Cefn Derwen wishes you everything for Christmas that you wish for yourself. Have a peaceful and happy day.

About tonycavanagh

Born Northampton UK; school Oxford UK and Oak Ridge Tennessee, where I met my wonderful partner Dave, also from UK. Oak Ridge is our main training base for acrobatics and circus stuff, but we also established a base in Wales (UK) to serve us when we are working in Europe. Our 'story', of finding gay love, learning the acrobatics trade and then of how we got shot at during our show (and worse was to follow - just to prove that the risks of being an acrobat are not always the most obvious ones!) are now available in my three books 'Loving the Boy', 'The Power of Love' and 'Against All Odds'. Links available on most blog posts. Actually, waiting for the imminent arrival of the first printed copies was far scarier than anything we do in performance. A fourth book - not about us but exploring the sadness of a gay Native American boy denied his true identity - is currently with an agent for evaluation. watch for 'Let The Future Find Me' in due time. And now to book five... another boy, another quest... seems its always boys...
