Light Out of Darkness

Things are looking up. I may have to put up with a swollen leg for some weeks, but the injections and rat poison are pretty much certain to put things right, in their own time. I am not forbidden to drive, nor indeed to fly, although I have no immediate plans for that for a few weeks. Just keep reporting for the blood tests…

…and put up with endless questions, mainly from the kids. We somehow got through the debate on hypodermics versus beds of nails, then we got on to acupuncture. ‘How does that work, Dad?’ I’m not actually sure it does, since pushing a few needles into ourselves once in a while didn’t effect a miracle cure to any known ailments in our shows, and it doesn’t instantly do so for me now either! But at least it allows me to post this JOKE

…and, indeed, THIS ONE TOO…

…as indeed I am doing twice a week in the doctor’s office right now…

Well, you’ve got to laugh, haven’t you?..

…ah, swimming. I’m missing that, since trying to do leg strokes when one leg appears to weigh three times the other is a bit off-putting, even when only your mates are there to see it.

‘Mates’, fortunately, is what I have in abundance, and they’re all rallying round to keep me amused in their various ways…

…but I’m unlikely to appear in the performing group for a while yet, since I don’t exactly have the ‘body beautiful’ look right now that a fit “young” man should have…

Mr Somewhere Competition

…nor, indeed, the ability to hold a proper handstand at the moment…

two aspects

…yes, I tried it, with Dave there to catch me, and he had to. It feels like having a peculiar lead weight attached to your foot, and I can’t straddle my legs properly. Oh well, it’ll come back to me soon enough.

I’m missing the wrestling, too…

Too much self reflection, maybe…

(That is one BEAUTIFUL image…)

Everyone is very quick to keep pointing out something to me, especially when I was feeling a bit low soon after this leg thing happened…

‘Just hang in there, Tone, you’ll be fine…’

Thanks, guys. Enjoy a few more fitness pictures…

We seem to have drifted into ‘armpit’ mode… OK:

well shaped

…another great picture there… I think he’s on stage with side lighting, just as we do it – but I’m not sure what he’s actually doing.

And both his legs are the same size (grrrrr).

I’m sure I shall soon be ‘on top of the world’ again…

…the first thirty-odd years have been fun…

Loving the Boy: ISBN 978-1-907732-30-0

The Power of Love: ISBN 978-1-907732-41-6

Against All Odds: ISBN 978-1-908645-35-7

…well, the books cover three of the best of those years, when I met Dave…

Ironic Ending:

Curious that the Python who wrote and sang ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’ (Eric Idle) was the first of them to die…

See ya soon!
