No Excuses!

Every guy of every age who reads this and is not already taking care of his body in the gym: this message is for you!

Make your dreams your GOALS!!

And remember, it is not all about abs and chest! The back, for a start…

…and the arms…

…and shoulders…

By the way, dumbbells would be preferred for that exercise, and he is breaking our golden rule: “You want to see your body improving, and so do we…” – shirt off, please, next time!

It is much more fun to work out if you do it with a mate…

…but don’t let a late mate be your excuse to do nothing…

Not inspired to get ‘at it’ yet? OK, let’s try both sides at once!

Mirrors are pretty much a ‘must have’ in the gym – apart from admiring your results, they help you to see that you are lifting with the correct form… and, if you hoist your photographer high above, you can make some pretty interesting images…

…and even the selfies can inspire you to do more…

Go on, just another ten repetitions…

Remember to rest each muscle group for a day between sessions – but work out a programme that keeps you active every day, doing something physical…

Yes, it has to fun. It has to be something you want to do, and which you will miss if you don’t get in there and do it! Basically, if you can feel good about your body in public, you did it!

Or, I suppose, you could just slouch on the couch and grow fat. Your call. But, if that’s your choice, there is an alternative to TV…

About tonycavanagh

Born Northampton UK; school Oxford UK and Oak Ridge Tennessee, where I met my wonderful partner Dave, also from UK. Oak Ridge is our main training base for acrobatics and circus stuff, but we also established a base in Wales (UK) to serve us when we are working in Europe. Our 'story', of finding gay love, learning the acrobatics trade and then of how we got shot at during our show (and worse was to follow - just to prove that the risks of being an acrobat are not always the most obvious ones!) are now available in my three books 'Loving the Boy', 'The Power of Love' and 'Against All Odds'. Links available on most blog posts. Actually, waiting for the imminent arrival of the first printed copies was far scarier than anything we do in performance. A fourth book - not about us but exploring the sadness of a gay Native American boy denied his true identity - is currently with an agent for evaluation. watch for 'Let The Future Find Me' in due time. And now to book five... another boy, another quest... seems its always boys...

“It has to be fun. It has to be something you want to do, and which you will miss if you don’t get in there and do it!” And that is precisely why some of us will never exercise regularly or have the physical fitness that comes from regular exercise. I’ve tried various forms of exercise–nothing remotely approaching your standards–and I’ve hated every minute of it.
