Happiness is…

…or so our Chinese acquaintances inform us. I wouldn’t know… the only Chinese writing I do understand is displayed proudly on our lower backs as a symbol which unites ten very special guys into a closed circle of sharing and love. Tuan Jie. Tuan JieYou might notice that this latter symbol appears on the cover of each of my books which document my discovering of gayness and my wonderful partner, along with our sport and subsequent circus adventures and mishaps. Clicking on the covers will lead to the trail, and there are e-books too of course…

OK, enough of that. Now what does ‘happiness’ actually mean for this guy 30-something and his friends?

Being fit with a good body for a start:

Working out in the gym for a start, either with the weights…

…or the equipment…

Remember, there are absolutely No Excuses for not taking care of your body – at any age! If you don’t have the right weights or the equipment…

…innovate! Cobble something together…

..use whatever you can find…

…and other sports can definitely firm up your physique…

‘Happiness’ also means being able to put that hard-won tight body to good use, doing things that perhaps not many others can…

Happiness is feeling and looking like this

sweaty workout!

…physically wrecked, sweaty….yeah!! “I worked out real hard today and don’t I feel good!!“.

Happiness is also oiling up…

…not only for showing off your body to the camera, but for wrestling – your hard body pressed against another, muscles straining… and that’s not only for wrestling, of course…

Yes, Happiness is also another guy to share your interests and, as appropriate, your love as well…

And don’t forget to share the workouts and training too – a training partner (or more) really makes for a great occasion, each encouraging the others and driving them on…

…leading, of course, to the happiness of sharing the adrenaline in public performance…

And that one reminds of another ‘Happiness’, which is going shirtless and barefoot whenever possible…

And – another picture of ‘Happiness’ (at least for us) – skinny dipping and communing with nature…

Along with my great partner Dave, my other great ‘Happiness’ is, of course, my fantastic son Leo, who shares all of the above (except gayness, which he profoundly is not!) – his hard workouts and his performing skills continue to amaze me.

Well, sorry if I’ve laid on the ‘Happiness’ a bit with a trowel, as they say – but it’s just one of those days when, for once, things are going right! More fitness/gay lifestyle/entertainment/shirtlessness/barefoot-ness to follow soon!

Have a happy day yourselves, folks!

About tonycavanagh

Born Northampton UK; school Oxford UK and Oak Ridge Tennessee, where I met my wonderful partner Dave, also from UK. Oak Ridge is our main training base for acrobatics and circus stuff, but we also established a base in Wales (UK) to serve us when we are working in Europe. Our 'story', of finding gay love, learning the acrobatics trade and then of how we got shot at during our show (and worse was to follow - just to prove that the risks of being an acrobat are not always the most obvious ones!) are now available in my three books 'Loving the Boy', 'The Power of Love' and 'Against All Odds'. Links available on most blog posts. Actually, waiting for the imminent arrival of the first printed copies was far scarier than anything we do in performance. A fourth book - not about us but exploring the sadness of a gay Native American boy denied his true identity - is currently with an agent for evaluation. watch for 'Let The Future Find Me' in due time. And now to book five... another boy, another quest... seems its always boys...
