And We Thought Winter Was Over…

SNOW 16424

…they dumped several inches of snow on us, thanks to a depression moving up the cost in the Gulf of Mexico! Well, getting warmed up and then going shirtless in the snow is quite invigorating, I guess…

…some go further…

OK, maybe that’s going a bit far! But the kids are enjoying themselves, given that we don’t get snow here very often, and the disruption quickly spread to the school timetable with closures… two boys (Leo and Chris) wrestling in the snow in their underwear, although it didn’t last long and I didn’t have a camera or cameraphone to hand, otherwise I might have treated you to a rare ‘kids’ picture just for once…

…but I found this – from Turkey, where kids wrestling in the snow is clearly a spectator sport!

untitledA tiny pic there (won’t enlarge) of some British boys enjoying being barefoot and barechested in the snow. it is a great feeling, actually, so long as you keep moving and don’t take too long over it!

Oh well, spring is on its way, so we can long forward instead to this

…or at least we could if we were anywhere near the sea! Bad choice of US State to live in, maybe, but that was because of my dad’s job initially and now, by the looks of it, we’re here to stay for a while. But at least we can use the river, and we do that right through the year!

And, indeed, swimming in the snow…

…or snow swimming…

…are not out of the question! Go on… give it a try…

…or, at least, go for a shirtless run (in this case, in Central Park, New York City)…

Northeast Snow

Some disruption to the gymnastics coaching schedule from the snow as well, so I actually stayed home and did a little bit more of book 4 yesterday, moving my hero on from Kentucky up to the northwest. It will all end in tears, I fear, unlike the existing (and more autobiographical) three on offer…

Meanwhile, it’s the weather for being indoors in the gym, where we can still get sweaty after a good workout instead of shivering…

…just as good a feeling as being shirtless in the snow. Some more “warmer” pictures, then…

Bring it on…!!!

About tonycavanagh

Born Northampton UK; school Oxford UK and Oak Ridge Tennessee, where I met my wonderful partner Dave, also from UK. Oak Ridge is our main training base for acrobatics and circus stuff, but we also established a base in Wales (UK) to serve us when we are working in Europe. Our 'story', of finding gay love, learning the acrobatics trade and then of how we got shot at during our show (and worse was to follow - just to prove that the risks of being an acrobat are not always the most obvious ones!) are now available in my three books 'Loving the Boy', 'The Power of Love' and 'Against All Odds'. Links available on most blog posts. Actually, waiting for the imminent arrival of the first printed copies was far scarier than anything we do in performance. A fourth book - not about us but exploring the sadness of a gay Native American boy denied his true identity - is currently with an agent for evaluation. watch for 'Let The Future Find Me' in due time. And now to book five... another boy, another quest... seems its always boys...
