Weirder Weather Still to Come!

Well, I commented on the snow dump which we had this week! But something really odd is ‘planned’ for next week, according to the weather predictors. By midweek, it is going to be ‘early summer’ temperatures – 65F / 18C – and we could theoretically be out there sunbathing…

…and then, early the next morning, the temperature is going to plummet to 23F /-5C before it rises just a little and we get SNOW again!

We wait with interest to see what will actually happen!

What is clear, from one of the ‘less shouty’ weather channels on TV (why is all American TV so ‘shouty’?) is that on a world-wide basis, places which should be cold are warmer than usual and places which should be hot right now are less hot than usual and sometimes story. ‘Someone up there’ seems to be pressing all the wrong buttons.

But it keeps us on our toes! Leo and Chris decided to ‘show off’ at school lunch break (sigh!) by engaging in shirtless and barefoot snow wrestling again, with mixed response. Leo’s latest girlfriend Karla seems to have been impressed (but she sees him a lot with his shirt off anyway at gym), whereas other classmates rounded on them for their ‘exhibitionism’ in a modestly bullying way: however, later, a group of three boys who have never had time for my son and his friend ‘cornered’ them as they were leaving school and asked if they could go somewhere and join in! They ended up in Chris’s yard (which for some reason got more snow than we did just half a mile away), and seem now to all be better friends than they were before, with a bit more respect for each other as well. And Chris’s Mom thought that it was all hilarious when she called us to explain why Leo had not come home…

Fun, fun, then. But roll on the real summer when we can all get out there and do what we really love to do:

Not sure we shall actually get near canyon country, although that would be ‘kewl’ as well as ‘hot’! But we can dream… as we shall actually be involved with another circus tour at the start of the summer break.

If I really can’t get you out there exercising – in the sun or in the snow – and there are is some strong resistance out there, even in readers of this blog (see comment on ‘No Excuses’ post), then maybe you could just read about us doing it instead – and simultaneously enjoying our gay lives – just click on these links:

Loving the Boy: ISBN 978-1-907732-30-0

The Power of Love: ISBN 978-1-907732-41-6

Against All Odds: ISBN 978-1-908645-35-7

But think what you could be missing out on…

About tonycavanagh

Born Northampton UK; school Oxford UK and Oak Ridge Tennessee, where I met my wonderful partner Dave, also from UK. Oak Ridge is our main training base for acrobatics and circus stuff, but we also established a base in Wales (UK) to serve us when we are working in Europe. Our 'story', of finding gay love, learning the acrobatics trade and then of how we got shot at during our show (and worse was to follow - just to prove that the risks of being an acrobat are not always the most obvious ones!) are now available in my three books 'Loving the Boy', 'The Power of Love' and 'Against All Odds'. Links available on most blog posts. Actually, waiting for the imminent arrival of the first printed copies was far scarier than anything we do in performance. A fourth book - not about us but exploring the sadness of a gay Native American boy denied his true identity - is currently with an agent for evaluation. watch for 'Let The Future Find Me' in due time. And now to book five... another boy, another quest... seems its always boys...
