“Nudists Steal Water for Skinny-Dipping”

HA! One more weather-related post. The snow has more or less receded from us for the moment (pending next week’s weird reversal forecast), meaning if we or our kids wanted to continue the snow-wrestling theme it would probably be more mud than snow now – like this:

“Arrrgh!”, as the guy facing the camera probably says…

On the lighter side, a news headline caught our eye last week: “Nudists Stealing Water for Skinny-Dipping”! Apparently this relates to our Californian friends, who have been drought victims for several years now. Seems there is colony of naturists somewhere near Silicon Valley who have “diverted a waterfall” to keep their pool filled – at a mighty rate of four gallons a minute. This water could, instead, have stayed in its original stream and been fed to San Francisco for the residents to wash their cars… although, to be fair, the dry conditions are becoming pretty scary and they’re not even offering water in a restaurant there now unless you specifically request it.

The sheriff has now confiscated their half-mile long hose!!

The nudists say that, in addition to their pool problem, “The lawns aren’t as enjoyable to lay on and play on… it’s all dirt and dust!” Exactly – as above!

The good news is that our local Clinch River isn’t set to dry up anytime soon, and Dave and I plus our dear friends Leon and Dane enjoyed a dip there early this morning…

…before rushing back to look after their group of visiting young wrestlers (more on this tomorrow).

Meanwhile, everyone locally here in TN does still have grass that’s relatively green to “lay and play on”, even if most of them can’t do it naked because of neighbours overlooking them!…

…and, perhaps, because not everyone is batty enough like us to want to be shirtless, barefoot and generally naked in February when there are plenty traces of snow on the ground and a chill in the air!

So, basically, summer sun is still a bit of a dream (but a good one, with guys like this around)…

…but HEY, meteorologically speaking, it’s the first day of spring… the local pools will soon get cleaned out and be populated by muscular and bronzed ‘pool boys’…

Spring often brings the first flush of gay youth out into the open…

…and, just like all those birds and bees, gay courtship rituals become more intense…

…although for some of us, they definitely don’t stop for winter! It just feels like summer all the time

I close my eyes and I am immediately on that white sandy beach with Dave! And with Pete, and Ivo, and Zach, and Gary, and Ethan, and Jack… and with Leon and with Dane, who actually are here this weekend, in the ‘public’ smaller gym at Chad’s Man.Power.2 for the wrestle camp. Those nine other guys form our special closed clique of gay love, established more than ten years ago and described here…

And now, with the book commercial out of the way for another post, here are a few more of the kind of pictures you have hopefully come to expect here. Enjoy!

Attitude + ballet = ????? Ripped, anyway!

Finish today with a more modest river swimmer (more modest than we generally are, or need to be… our swimming hole is pretty secluded!):

About tonycavanagh

Born Northampton UK; school Oxford UK and Oak Ridge Tennessee, where I met my wonderful partner Dave, also from UK. Oak Ridge is our main training base for acrobatics and circus stuff, but we also established a base in Wales (UK) to serve us when we are working in Europe. Our 'story', of finding gay love, learning the acrobatics trade and then of how we got shot at during our show (and worse was to follow - just to prove that the risks of being an acrobat are not always the most obvious ones!) are now available in my three books 'Loving the Boy', 'The Power of Love' and 'Against All Odds'. Links available on most blog posts. Actually, waiting for the imminent arrival of the first printed copies was far scarier than anything we do in performance. A fourth book - not about us but exploring the sadness of a gay Native American boy denied his true identity - is currently with an agent for evaluation. watch for 'Let The Future Find Me' in due time. And now to book five... another boy, another quest... seems its always boys...
