The Race Thing Again

Bad times in the Southern US right now, with the race attack at a church in Charleston – not so far from where we live. I’ve mentioned several times that the undercurrent of racism is always noticeable – even the owner of our brilliant ‘private’ gym has never admitted a coloured person, yet freely allows Chinese and other extraction folks to join. We love him to bits, I guess, but we cannot share his opinion on that. And of course, the gun thing too: once again, the gun lobby says that the best defence against bad guys with guns is good guys with more guns. To a mere Brit living in the US, it’s a surreal world.

So, from our mobile circus home in the deep South, deepest sympathies to the relatives of all those caught up in the homicides at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on Wednesday.

And now a few pictures. It may seem insensitive to some to follow the first two paragraphs with pictures of guys, but that’s what this blog is about (and those wretched book ads, of course). So I’ll do it anyway, sans further remarks – chest poses today.

About tonycavanagh

Born Northampton UK; school Oxford UK and Oak Ridge Tennessee, where I met my wonderful partner Dave, also from UK. Oak Ridge is our main training base for acrobatics and circus stuff, but we also established a base in Wales (UK) to serve us when we are working in Europe. Our 'story', of finding gay love, learning the acrobatics trade and then of how we got shot at during our show (and worse was to follow - just to prove that the risks of being an acrobat are not always the most obvious ones!) are now available in my three books 'Loving the Boy', 'The Power of Love' and 'Against All Odds'. Links available on most blog posts. Actually, waiting for the imminent arrival of the first printed copies was far scarier than anything we do in performance. A fourth book - not about us but exploring the sadness of a gay Native American boy denied his true identity - is currently with an agent for evaluation. watch for 'Let The Future Find Me' in due time. And now to book five... another boy, another quest... seems its always boys...

    I have something to say.
Their are all types of attraction. From the way a person looks. From how they wear their clothes, from how they walk, from how they talk, from how they don’t talk, from how they stand, from how they sit, From their overall body language in general. So let me ask you do you find any man/guy who is not of your ethnicity? A question because the pics in your blog only seem to represent one ethnic group. Surely as a Brit you can see the beauty of the world

A very good comment and question. I suppose I probably am biased in favour of my own ethnicity in my genes, but I am certainly not specifically biased against skin color in terms of blog, accepting athletes for training, or anything like that. My only excuse I suppose is that I collect pictures from the wide world, and there is a very clear ‘white’ majority out there. Will try to do better.

      Thanks for the contribution.
