Trying Not to ‘Sink to the Occasion’…

Today’s Gallery Theme: Partners

I love that picture. I had it stored ready to post ages ago on a memory stick which then died, and it took a while to find it again. I like to think that they’re brothers, with the youngster inspired by his older sibling and the older one loving to help his kid brother start to achieve some gains. And what gains! Just the sort of ‘gymspiration’ we’re looking for. Possibly two more here:

OK. That post title. Not really related to today’s images. Since I wrote about the collapse of our planned circus stint during the upcoming school summer vacation, a number of suggestions have come our way, most of which are unfortunately totally impractical (but thanks for the ideas, guys). The main objective was always to let the youngsters have the experience of another professional engagement, so several of the suggestions I’m afraid fall foul of that as they would be totally unsuitable. Suggestions of naked shows, for example…

…yes, I know we have done that sort of thing, and that I even wrote about it…

The Power of Love: ISBN 978-1-907732-41-6

Against All Odds: ISBN 978-1-908645-35-7

…but that was under carefully controlled and very private conditions, and absolutely definitely NOT involving any young teenagers! Especially ours. So, despite hopes that we might be seen to (literally) ‘Rise to the Occasion’ [work it out for yourselves], it’s not going to happen. We shall not (pun, awful but useful – credit at the end!) ‘Sink to the Occasion’ in that fashion. Private training, just for ourselves, now that’s a different matter…

Just as I do not often post pictures of young teens here (today’s opening picture perhaps excepted, along with some young gymnast images released by their clubs, because they are widely seen on the web), any shows involving our kids and their friends will be strictly ‘anonymous’ as we maintain their web presence as an indirect one until they reach the age where they can decide for themselves.

So it’s just the pictures of ‘partners’ to conclude and, since my partner is another guy and we have enjoyed a loving relationship for 16 years (acquiring kids along the way, and you can read the books to sort that out), the later pictures will probably reflect that…

…but first, a little rough and tumble with one’s partner is always fun:

Checking out his abs…

A bit of a pose, showing off each other’s success in the gym:

A little less formal, in the locker room…

Twins? I’ve spotted at least one difference…

A little ‘fetch and carry’ training at wrestle camp…

And then, inevitably, bedtime approaches, and the gay couples find time for a little ‘tlc’…

When it gets to bedtime where you are… Sweet Dreams!

PS: Credit where credit is due. The phrase ‘he sank to the occasion’ was used by a British political commentator this week to describe another ineffective speech by the leader of the opposition in the UK parliament, Jeremy Corbyn, in response to the governing party’s annual ‘budget’ speech: I stole it from the web edition of my link with home – ‘The Times’. We writers need to stick together and support one another too…

I’d like to point out that my “naked show” idea had nothing to do with your kids. In fact, until today’s post, I can’t remember you mentioning that the plans for the kids had been cancelled. I definitely would think it inappropriate for underage kids to be involved in such a program. I was thinking about a private, adults-only show similar to what we see of the public naked wrestling shows hosted by Naked Kombat in their San Francisco studio. I apologize for any confusion I might have caused.

Don’t take it personally! Some much less appropriate suggestions were received by e-mail. And, yes, we raise our hands and say we have dabbled in stuff like NK (although not them) in the past. The cancelled circus tour involved us all – kids and adults alike. Still considering the options…
