As promised – and previewed – in two recent posts, here is a post dedicated to the gymnast boys of Chelyabinsk in Siberia, training under the fantastic coaching of Andrey Telitsyn. You can find more, and videos too, at http://instagram.com/andreytelitsyn He’s heavy on conditioning even with the younger boys – something we are always cautioned not to do, or at least not to use weights, just their bodyweight, but my goodness, it works for him (and them)!
Just look at the muscle – fantastic core strength development makes successful gymnasts. Flexibility is not lost:

If you’re ever short of a barbell… use a flexible gymnast!

There is plenty of time for relaxation, though (and just look at their muscle, not being helped by all that cream cake though):
Not forgetting the sauna and plunge pool for working on those muscles:
And they like to get out and about, especially for a ‘street workout’:

I’m guessing these lads are doing around 12-15 hours a week in the gym – you can see what difference three years of training makes…
…and how much they enjoy doing it…
So, after my usual reminder about relevant reading matter with added gay spice…
…we’ll leave our Siberian boys in their sauna, and come back to them another time!
…very much a local tradition, the sauna – then into the plunge pool which is normal swim-pool temperature or a bit colder…and then out come the birch twigs and a beating to assist the skin to deal with its impurities – great fun. We went near to their place years ago during our adventures (not recorded in the books, though) – I remember a town called Zarechny near Yekaterinburg, where we were given the full sauna experience!
