Locker-Room Fun

The ‘fun’ in our case is not what you may be thinking… but in fact supervising the fitting out of the locker room to go with the first of our two gyms!

Originally we had assumed that our users would change in their own apartments and then just wander over here, but the directors rightly assumed that they would also bring wallets, phones, assorted unnecessary clothes, shoes, their lunch, and goodness knows what else.

So they designed in about small lockable ‘safes’ between the gym and the showers/sauna facilities, and all of this stuff arrived over the long weekend.

Well, a lot better than open storages ‘cubes’ like these, I think:

Being a new set-up, they’ll look quite neat and, since the locker rooms are often the chosen locations for the ‘selfies’ or ‘progress statements’, that’s good. Washrooms and toilets come a close second as the chosen venue!

I generally spare you the locker-room pix which also feature the urinals!

Others choose more unexpected locations – like this subway car…

…perhaps that was going to be a ‘bar-boy’ performance, given the gloves… others cut down the background clutter to a minimum and let us focus on what matters – the bodies!…

…and, indeed, what guys can do with them…

But, when it comes to checking out the physiques, don’t the pictures actually taken in the gym have that little bit more impact…

…but, rather than just standing in front of a mirror with a phone…

…especially when the phone blocks out half your body (I don’t usually bother with posting those!), get a friend to photograph you instead…

…or you and a friend…

…or, better still, get photographed actually lifting the weights!!…

…wait – maybe something just a little bit tougher…

…right in there with the smell of the sweat – that’s the way to do it…

real sweat, straight off the rings…

Our business! Well, one of them. Enjoy.

I’m posting this in my ‘lunch hour’, a phenomenon I’m not really used to. But it has its advantages, as I have ‘my’ boy slaving away in our kitchen as I idly type these final thoughts. He’s doing exactly what it says, and the smell wafting up the stairs on to our roof terrace is just, sooooooooooooo… Love you, Dave!

About tonycavanagh

Born Northampton UK; school Oxford UK and Oak Ridge Tennessee, where I met my wonderful partner Dave, also from UK. Oak Ridge is our main training base for acrobatics and circus stuff, but we also established a base in Wales (UK) to serve us when we are working in Europe. Our 'story', of finding gay love, learning the acrobatics trade and then of how we got shot at during our show (and worse was to follow - just to prove that the risks of being an acrobat are not always the most obvious ones!) are now available in my three books 'Loving the Boy', 'The Power of Love' and 'Against All Odds'. Links available on most blog posts. Actually, waiting for the imminent arrival of the first printed copies was far scarier than anything we do in performance. A fourth book - not about us but exploring the sadness of a gay Native American boy denied his true identity - is currently with an agent for evaluation. watch for 'Let The Future Find Me' in due time. And now to book five... another boy, another quest... seems its always boys...
